"Plant Memory" was produced for UCLA DMA 154: Word + Image course, which was taught in collaboration with the Hammer Museum and its exhibition, "Graphic Design: Now in Production," curated by Ellen Lupton and Andrew Blauvelt.
Influenced by the concept of 'storytelling' from Michael Rock's "Fuck Content," Plant Memory tells the story of three plants I own. It is about my relationship with these three plants and consequently, the people, places, and things that are associated with them. Through the process of automatic writing, meditation on memory, and photography, I created illustrations and patterns that tell the story of these plants and ultimately, my own personal story.
